Of Prefects and Bullies in Budo

ba guy/ba gal

we were getting a bit 2 technical with all this white babe stuff, then the kony stuff and all. i mean we r slowly beggining 2 resemble the monitor forum...however it is a liberal democracy init? anyway as i read through some of ya posts i rembered the budo political tyrants of them days(no offence intended andre, gali, pote and ya all)..men with absolute power,it was vulgar. the worst gp were the s3 subies...oh those fellows!

i recall once carrying chairs 2 busu's gwa on founders day. one guy was approached by a games prefect. the prefect was shouting "gwe wat have u done?" my pal, heart beating believed himself 2 be innocent.he readily responded "nothing" then all of a sudden "paaaoooooaaaaooooooo" across his face. 5 long hard fingers went right across his face...the prefect then said something i will never 4get. he said "gwe your friends have been working and u have done nothing"...in the name of justice wat was up with this prefect?

then those honourable members called hse p's who wd collect "house fund"-biki ebyo? as if we never paid school fees. i know one hse where the hse p never needed viste...he wd just charge boys rent. nga the kids paid through the nose so that the guy cd have a 7up, 3 sumbis and a roundloaf 4 break

now the subees....banage those men..they knew how 2 make kids home sick!! it was no wonder mail collectors who banged "nyondo"(dont ask me 4 names!) were rich indeed..kubanga kids cd write home..remarks like "i miss you all, am home sick and i luv u mum(or nyabo)" must have been common in those bu letters kubanga the subees werelike one ghanian hse prefect in galis pc;powerful(we always thought he was not only the Ghanianian hse p but also e Hp, the Dhp, the prep p, the mess p and even the sabaganzi hse prefect!) anyway ba guy lemme stop here. i dont want 2 burn my fingers anymore than i already have...i think the guys who were prefects shd tell us what happens 2 u when u get power(absolute power corrupts absolutley...how can sch rule number 1 be immeadiate obedience 2 all in authority..?) they shd tell us in the name of openeness wat happens in the dc of the pc of kcb?(i hear there was mob violation of human rights)also give us the side that no one in budo ever heard or cared 2 hear-the prefects version.

Medi you crack me up!!
Who is this Blutaski guy anyway?
Oh by the way, the above messages that are deleted from Medi were all the same. I do not know if you wanted us to get your point by re-reading your messages over and over again or it was merely a mistake, but I assumed the latter and took the liberty to edit (erase) the repititions. So guys, do not think that you are missing out on any of Medi's interesting observations.
PS: Incase you post the same message, you can use the delete button to delete it.

Anything can happen in Budo>>
For me I had a list of my most hated guys in Budo. But the annoying thing is that as you grow up, your hatred for people over past events starts to wane ( I hear it has something to do with those hormones of maturity) Anyway, high up on that list used to be Kanyamunyu Matthew..God bless his soul. Matthew, if your reading this, I got nothing but love for you man, but man you 'nyigged ( nyigg is an understatement here)' us maaaaan. And I want to thank you for that () Yup, I want to thank all those tough subbees, those nyiggist prefects, those annoying bullies for making being a junior in Budo quite interesting. I will get to that later. What's really funny is that in Matthew's S4 vacation, I met him on the streets in Kla (KPC-FidoDido) and we talked like long lost pals. There is a thing about Budonians such that even if you hated each other or it was ur bully that you met, you would always bond atleast until you got back to school. But I digress, back to Matthew. My letter to Matthew:

"We (England juniors at the time) were praying for the day you finished Cantab because maaaaaaan, you made our lives hell. There was a rumor floating around that 'selling' you to anyone, even Bus was useless because you could not be expelled and your relatives were close buddies of his. This was only fueled by the fact that whenever you got into trouble, you were only suspended only to re-appear on the hill like nothing had happened. Even the England S4's were scared of you when you were in S3. So when you got into a brawl with the HP, and as rumor has it, terrorised him, you basically became a 'god' in our eyes ( not a good god obviously). On top of that, nothing was done to you (life can be unfair to an S1).
Ba-guy, what is an S1 supposed to think of a guy who beats an HP and is not even chucked? I tried all methods to get around you but wapi, your trust could never be attained. Mbu trying to kiss up to him and bring him all my kimere on visitte, but wapi, the next day I would be the first junior heading towards canteen."
Those were fun days, even though it was horrible living in dorm, it was just exciting trying to survive through all the hardships of senior one. Which leads me back to my original point of thanking people like Matthew, because due to all the hardships that they put me through, I grew up to be a stronger person, and was exposed to what tough boarding school life can be. More than I can say for the current S1's that I left at Budo. I hear nowadays if you look at an S1 badly they can sell you and you might be chucked by Miss Mirembe....what nonsense is that? Those kids do not know what we went through. Abaana b'ennakuzino tubakuza eky'egyo. But then again, these are just my opinions.

Bagay... I have been reflecting big time since Friday I am thinking due to stress. But honestly, reading these messages is a good way to unwind from all that stress. You guys crack me up...

Gali... I can not imagine you do not know who Blutaski is or was... but I am sure you will soon find out. I mean, how could you go through Budo during the days of Blutaski's and fail to know him.

Talking about retrenchment, upon which teachers was this move performed, if anyone cares to tell us?

Talking about surviving at Budo in S1... for me, there is this one guy, who impressed me beyond all belief by the survival tacticts he chose to use. They called him KIbuuka Wilson. So nga this guy comes in S1. He happened to resemble, TUMA, the KCB HP two generations before ANDRE'. (By the way, TUMA got married just recently). What he did was simple. He exploited his resemblence to TUMA and convinced everyone including the seniors (his would-be bullies) that he was TUMA's brother. All seniors, including myself, accorded a lot of respect to him in return... Who would dare to touch Tuma's brother? Not that I was a bullie... I treated this guy very, very specially and I gave him more than his fair share of respect.

So... just last year when I found Tuma in Uganda... I told him, "Man... you have grown to resemble your brother, Kibuuka Wilson, even more." It was only ten that I found out that this had all been a hoax.

In mutesa we had a system where S.1's were each assigned an S.6's room to scrub every wednesday and saturday, if your S.6 boss was a kawa guy, you would skip some days without scrubbing. So when I entered the gates of Hill in 1996, I was surely assigned a room of a one "Mugera -something", in summary this guy "nyigid" me with a rather softer touch. He appeared to be a very kawa guy and he would not bother reminding me of my duties at his mini-chamber. But whenever he would reflect his burning, usually after midnight, irregardless of whatever day it was, he would just come and get me out of bed and within minutes i would be "sleep-scrubbing" his room while the rest of the royal household snoared in sweet deep sleep. When he was long gone to Makerere, one day during those term-holidays, i came back home to find a campuser in our house; I hear visiting my big sister, oh boy, he could not believe his sight and neither could I. Anyway, I had the delight of sharing my experiences with big sis and I swear I dont know what followed but I have never seen this brother since then though I somehow felt I could have given him a "lennox-tyson." [KO]
NB: this is based on a true story.

I have really had quite an experience being part of this great Budonian thing.
It is always a nice thing to be reminded of those days when, to do your house work in 'overseas' meant that you had to first rehearse a certain slow 'ziki' lest you were asked to dance away with a pillow. Ba guys, in Ghana, we did have something like 'operation thunder showers' that was introduced by a certain 'genius' by the names of 'war.' I remember guys having to dip there sponges and undies in water in preparation for this great event. But I think that such things are the one that made life at Naggalabi unique interesting.

Guys are you sure there is no hyperbole in your tales of 'the pc and subees'!!!??? Coz this is a bit too much for me...
How is it even possible that you could allow yourselves to be bullied like that.... ... and are these the same people who were actually debating on whether or not they would take their daughters to Budo???? (somebody please explain this to me...). In comparision to what Ive read.... I think us gals lived in paradise on the hill.

Maan ..... the worst case scenario gals end was if a prefect sold you to the office or gave you uncalled for porter!!! Other than that..I just donot see how a fellow student can dare lay their hands on you and its kawa.... (now if the one administering the slap is Pote... and you just swallowed,.... that I'll never understand... ??)

I think we should have actually been debating on "whether or not it is worth it for you child to go through all that suffering ... all in the name of being a Budonian!!!

Meanwhile, ksk, I know some of those stories can shock you but we surely went through them. The other consoling thing many of us forget to mention is, when we reached S.4 or S.6, we could have also pushed those little ones to the edge and that could have been some fun [4give me 4 this]. It is such a feeling of tradition seeing yourself on the recieving end in a khaki-short and then crossing over to the giving end when you get black trousers. Anyway, those experiences made us what we are now, and infact that raise that solidarity of Budonians.
Meanwhile, Andre' summarised what we had to say in a superb manner. This is basically what I was meaning in my long stories, later on Gali's defence.doc. Cheers Andre' for coming throug for us....
Anyway Pote, am quoting from ksk; (now if the one administering the slap is Pote...and you just swallowed,..that I'll never understand...???) how about an explanation.

Hi guyz,

So much has been said about the legendary Kanyamunyu who was and is still a friend to me. I want to assure you guyz that if anyone has done a great job of picking themselves up after a great fall, then it is Kanyamunyu; I call him Mathew. Mathew has set his life on perfect course. He worked with FedEx K'la for some time and right now he owns his own Courier Company called One World Courier located at Sure House, Bombo Road. He is the Managing Director. In addition to that, he is also back in school, infact he attends ACCA classes with me.

We should all remember, "Falling makes an ordinary man seem even more ordinary, but the ordinary man who stands up after a great fall and keeps walking seems even more extra ordinary."

Enjoy yourselves,

Cheers,
adam k.

medi, this is in response to ur description of Blutaski. I have actually met that guy, and he may have been part of an allegedly menancing group and even headed it but Blutaski was quite the gentleman when i met him at some hse party. If nothing else, he surely knew how to be a gentleman...atleast in public!
The way i remember it, the other members of the arousasa are the ones that had a case to prove, trying to terrorise the school.e.g the likes of Twagira and Maberi.(and i know for a fact that the former was just alot of hot air!) He may have inspired it but can you prove it really??
